Governor Oyetola Signs Amotekun Bill, Asks Osun Residents To Adhere To Law




Osun State Governor, Adegboyega Oyetola has signed Amotekun bill into law with a call on residents of the state to adhere to the spirit and letter of the Amotekun law.
Sources correspondent, who was at the Governor’s Office where the bill was signed can report that the signing was done today at the governor’s office in Osogbo, the state capital before the State lawmakers and members of the executive.

The speaker of the Osun House of Assembly, Rt Hon Timothy Owoeye led other members of the state parliament to the governor to assent the bill.

Speaking, Governor Oyetola thanked the state lawmakers and people of the state for their efforts in making the bill a reality.

He said, “I am very pleased to welcome you to the historic event of the signing into law the state of Osun Security Network Agency and Amotekun Corps Bill.

“This bill is the product of the collective will of the people of Osun acting both by themselves and through their elected representatives”

“As I sign this bill this day, it becomes law for the protection of our people and their property.”

The Governor showed appreciation to the Speaker, other Principal officers and Honourable members of the House for working tirelessly and expediting action on the Bill in the interest of safety and security of the state and the people.

The Governor urged all to adhere to the spirit and letter of the law and respect the Amotekun personnel as they labour earnestly to protect the state.

The Speaker, Hon. Timothy Owoeye said the bill would ensure security of Osun and Southwest at large.
