'These THUGS are dishonoring the memory of George Floyd, and I won’t let that happen' -Trump threatens to use military if the protests and looting in Minneapolis isn't stopped

US president, Donald Trump, has threatened to send the military to Minneapolis if the protests, burning of properties and looting in the city over the killing of George Floyd by a white police man isn't stopped.

In the viral video recording of George Floyd's death, police officer Derek Chauvin is seen kneeling on George’s neck. The video was almost 10 minutes long and for most of it, Derek had his knee on George's neck even as the Black man complained that he couldn’t breathe.

As Derek Chauvin knelt on George's neck, two other officers held George down by his stomach and legs. Even after George started bleeding from his nose and became unconscious, Derek didn't stop kneeling on his neck which eventually led to George's death.

Since George's death which caused an outcry on social media, riots have been occurring in Minneapolis, with shops being burnt, property being damaged, looting occurring and on thursday night, the Third Precinct police station in Minneapolis was set ablaze.

Now Trump has reacted, saying he wont sit back and watch as chaos continues in the city. He also referred to the protesters as 'thugs' saying they disrespect the memory of George Floyd.

Taking to twitter to write about the “total lack of leadership” in Minneapolis, Trump said

I can’t stand back & watch this happen to a great American City, Minneapolis. A total lack of leadership. Either the very weak Radical Left Mayor, Jacob Frey, get his act together and bring the City under control, or I will send in the National Guard & get the job done right

These THUGS are dishonoring the memory of George Floyd, and I won’t let that happen. Just spoke to Governor Tim Walz and told him that the Military is with him all the way. Any difficulty and we will assume control but, when the looting starts, the shooting starts. Thank you!
